From The PA Turnpike (East or West):

Take PA Turnpike to Exit 26 (Fort Washington) to Route 309 North.

Exit Route 309 at Norristown Road/Springhouse.

Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Norristown Road. This becomes Sumneytown Pike.

Cross over Route 202. (The William Penn Inn is on this corner.)

Continue through Gwynned and North Wales (Sumneytown Pike is called Main Street in North Wales).

Go under a railroad overpass; a few hundred feet on the left is the Merck facility.

 

From the PA Turnpike Northeast Extension (Route 476):

Take the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike to Exit 31 (Lansdale).

Turn left at end of ramp onto Sumneytown Pike.

Follow approximately 5 miles. Main entrance to Merck Visitor Center is on the right.

 

From Route 202:

Take Route 202 to Sumneytown Pike West. (William Penn Inn is at the corner of this intersection)

Travel west on Sumneytown Pike through 4 traffic lights. (Sumneytown Pike is called Main Street in North Wales.)

Go under railroad overpass. A few hundred feet on the left is the Merck Facility.

 

From Philadelphia Airport:

Upon leaving Airport, travel south on Route 95 to Exit 7, Plymouth Meeting/Route 476 (toll required).

Travel North on Route 476, approximately 20 miles to Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Take the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike (Route 476) to Exit 31, Lansdale/Kulpsville.

At the turnpike exit traffic light, turn left onto Sumneytown Pike.

Travel east on to Sumneytown Pike about 1/4 mile beyond 5th traffic light.

Merck is on the right-hand side.

(Approximate driving time from Philadelphia Airport to West Point Merck Site is one hour)

Upon leaving Airport, travel south on Route 95 to Exit 7, Plymouth Meeting/Route 476.

Travel North on Route 476 (toll road).

From 30th Street Station Train Station:

Take Route 76 West to Route 476 (toll road) North.

Take Exit 9, Germantown Pike West.

Continue on Germantown Pike to Route 202 North (right turn).

Follow Route 202 North to Norristown Road/Sumneytown Pike and turn left. (The William Penn Inn is on this corner.)

Continue through Gwynned and North Wales (Sumneytown Pike is called Main Street in North Wales).

Go under a railroad overpass; a few hundred feet on the left is the Merck facility.

 

From Newark International Airport:

Take Route 78 East to the New Jersey Turnpike South.

Travel south on the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6, Pennsylvania Turnpike Connection.

Travel west on Pennsylvania Turnpike Connection to exit 25, Northeast extension/Route 476. (Travel time to this point is approximately 75 minutes)

Travel north on Route 476 to Exit 31, Lansdale/Kulpsville.

At traffic light, turn left onto Sumneytown Pike.

Travel east onto Sumneytown Pike to Merck & Co., Inc. (About 1/4 mile on right, beyond 4th traffic light.)

 

OR

 

Take Route 78 East to the New Jersey Turnpike South.

Travel south on the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6, Pennsylvania Turnpike Connection.

Take PA Turnpike West to Exit 26 (Fort Washington) to Route 309 North.

Travel south on the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6, Pennsylvania Turnpike Connection.

Travel west on Pennsylvania Turnpike Connection to Exit 26, Route 309, Ambler.

Travel north on Route 309 to the exit for Norristown Road / Springhouse.

At bottom of ramp, turn left onto Norristown Road. This turns into Sumneytown Pike.

Cross over Route 202. (The William Penn Inn is on this corner.)

Continue through Gwynned and North Wales (Sumneytown Pike is called Main Street in

North Wales).

Go under a railroad overpass; a few hundred feet on the left is the Merck facility.

 

From Washington, DC area:

Take Interstate 95 North into Pennsylvania.

Follow Route 95 to Exit 7, Plymouth Meeting/Route 476.

Travel North on Route 476 (toll road), approximately 20 miles to Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Take the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike (Route 476) to Exit 31, Lansdale/Kulpsville.

At the turnpike exit traffic light, turn left onto Sumneytown Pike.

Travel east on to Sumneytown Pike about 1/4 mile beyond the 5th traffic light.

From Western Pennsylvania:

Take PA Turnpike East to Exit 26 (Fort Washington) to Route 309 North.

Exit Route 309 at Norristown Road/Springhouse.

Additional Information:

Entrances: #3, #5, #39 and #53 are for visitors.  As of 8/1/98, Entrance #5 is the preferred entrance point for visitors.

To get to Entrance #3, continue west on Sumneytown Pike and make a left turn at the first traffic light onto South Broad Street.  This will be a right turn at the light before the Merck facility if you are traveling east on Sumneytown Pike.  Entrance #3 is on the left at the second traffic light, through Entrance 3.  This entrance provides quick access to Buildings 38, 74, 20, 62, 56 and 69.

Entrance #5 is located off West Point Pike, which is the cross street just prior to the railroad overpass at the traffic light.  This entrance provides quick access to Buildings 78, 45, 46 and 44.

Entrance #39 is located off South Broad Street, at Entrance 2, next to the parking garage.  To get to Entrance #39, continue west on Sumneytown Pike and make a left turn at the first traffic light onto South Broad Street.  This will be a right turn at the light before the Merck facility if you are traveling east on Sumneytown Pike.  Once on South Broad Street, turn left at the first light to access Entrance 2.  This entrance provides quick access to Buildings 39, 37 complex and 35.

Entrance #53 is located off Sumneytown Pike.  This is the main Visitors' Center and can be accessed through Entrance 1.  This entrance provides quick access to Buildings 53, 26, 1, 16, 28, 36, 34 and 37 complex.

 

Directions to Building 97:

Proceed past Gate One on Sumeytown Pike to the intersection of Sumneytown and Broad Street.  

Make a left turn. Go the the first light the sign reads 1684 S. Broad Street.

Make a right turn. This is building 97.

Proceed to the back of the building and park.

 Go to the Main Entrance The security guard will direct you to the elevators.
